Urban Retreat – Living in the Greater Mandala – Sun 22nd Nov to Sat 28th Nov

What is an Urban Retreat? Rather than going away on retreat to the countryside, an Urban Retreat supports and deepens our practice of the Dharma while we live our lives, at home, in our workplaces and at Buddhist Centre Retreat events. In taking part we also create stronger connections between each other and the wider sangha (community). Who can take part? Absolutely everyone! Even if you have never meditated before, we will give you all the guidance you need (except Friday when it’s best if you have meditated before) Where is it happening? There are drop-in events all through the week at Leeds Buddhist Centre. And online at TheBuddhistCentre.com/urbanretreat there will be daily talks, guided meditations, and mantras every day from Sat 21st November plus many other activities. How much does it cost? The Centre is run as a ‘dana economy’ (a culture of generosity). This means that we no longer have a charge for any of our classes, as we wish them to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income. However it costs a lot to keep the centre open, so we ask everyone who can to consider donating as much as possible. If you can donate £2-3 for a lunchtime, £3-4 for a  teatime       drop-in, £5-6 for an evening event and £10-£30 for a Day Retreat it will help us to continue to make our events open to everyone. If you can give more than that, then you will be supporting others less fortunate than yourself.
