Courses for Newcomers

Starts Tuesday 23rd April 2024, 7pm–9pm for six consecutive Tuesday evenings.

This six-week course is for people who are new to Buddhism and meditation, and also for those who would like to deepen their understanding. It is help at the Leeds Buddhist Centre, in Horsforth. It’s easy to get to (click for the Map).

We are offering an introduction to both Buddhism and Meditation. It is open to all (over 18).  There is no charge for this course, though we will be asking if you’d like to give to the centre to provide future courses and activities.

On this course we’ll look into how we get blown around by circumstances in our daily lives. The course will provide ways of relaxing in the face of these pushes and pulls, and in practical ways of choosing wiser options – to keep us more grounded and happier. 

If you would to read prior or during the course, we’d suggest the book ‘Sailing the Worldly Winds’ by Vajragupta, which the course will be based around.  However, it is not necessary to read the book to do the course. We do have copies for sale at the buddhist centre, or you can buy them online:
