Metta Movies
A tiny Lama, a grumpy godfather, and a love that moves mountains. & What does unconditional love actually look like? Find out on Friday, 16th January, when we kick off Metta Movies at LBC with one of the most moving documentaries of the last decade: BECOMING WHO I WAS.

Filmed over eight years in the stark highlands of Northern India, this is an intimate portrait of an unlikely duo. An impoverished village doctor discovers his mischievous young godson is the reincarnation of a high-ranking Tibetan Lama. Cut off from his ancestral monastery, the boy’s future hangs in the balance–until his elderly godfather decides to do the impossible to get him home, Forget action blockbusters; this real-life trek across the Himalayas packs more emotional punch than anything out of Hollywood. It is a stunning exploration of faith and a deeply moving, real-life example of the Bodhisattva ideal- witnessing someone put the spiritual welfare of another completely before their own comfort and safety. We hope you can join us for this beautiful start to the year.
